The Diamonds were back on the goal trail in the second match of their highland tour, smashing six past Clachnacuddin without reply.
With a number of changes to Friday evening's starting line-up, and the usual multiple substitutions likely, first-team coach David Proctor was named on the bench as the veteran defender hoped to make his third Airdrie 'debut'.
After a cagey start, the Diamonds won the chance to take the lead midway through the first half, Cammy Russell drawing a foul in the box and Dale Carrick stepping up to take the spot-kick. The striker made no mistake in blasting home to make it 1-0 to Airdrie.
Seven minutes later the first substitution was made with Kieran Millar replacing trialist midfielder Adam Watson, and the former East Fife man wasted no time in grabbing his first goal for the club, send a fine header into the back of the net less than two minutes after taking the field.
With the game firmly in their grasp, Airdrie came out all guns blazing after the interval, and it only took five minutes for Dale Carrick to grab a second, netting his third goal of the tour.
The hard-working Cammy Russell got in on the act just after the hour-mark, and it was a strike to remember from the young hitman as he arrowed a 25-yard effort into the top corner.
Darryl Duffy replaced Carrick, and the veteran striker continued an impressive pre-season, taking his tally to five with two goals in a three minute spell.
That completed the scoring for Airdrie, who will be pleased with a valuable couple of days of football as the season draws ever closer.
Championship side Falkirk are the final pre-season opponents as the Diamonds visit Westfield to take on Paul Hartley's men next Saturday, before the Betfred Cup campaign gets underway the following weekend.
