Club Update – October 2026

NEW FANZONE READY TO LAUNCH

We’re excited to open our brand new fanzone for the first time ahead of Saturday’s match against Cove Rangers. The Rowan Suite, the stadium’s main function area, has been given a major makeover in recent weeks as we aim to create a new social hub where fans can gather to enjoy a refreshment – and a great atmosphere – before watching the Diamonds in action.

With Birra Moretti on tap, large-screen TVs showing Sky Sports, a professional pool table, and a treasure trove of historical Airdrieonians memorabilia adorning the walls, we’re sure you’ll agree that the Fanzone @ The Joey Rowan Suite is the perfect place to get together before the match.

As well as the sports-bar ambience, there will be further treats for Diamonds fans as current squad members and hospitality speakers – typically former players – mingle with supporters and take part in audience Q&As.

It promises to be an experience not to be missed, so why not come along and see for yourself before Saturday’s match. Doors open at 12:30pm.

We can’t wait to see you there – keep an eye on our social media channels for some photos of the new-look fanzone!

GAEL FORCE WINDS

The trip to face Ross County in Dingwall is a lengthy one at the best of times, but in the face of Storm Boleo, Saturday’s visit to the highlands was even more arduous than usual. Although the result definitely didn’t go our way, the one bright spot of a miserable afternoon was the vocal support from the hardy band of fans who travelled to the Global Energy Stadium – everyone at the club is grateful for your backing, and we hope you all had a safe journey to and from Dingwall.

GROW THE FANBASE A ROARING SUCCESS

Saturday’s fixture is the final match of our October Grow the Fanbase campaign, in which free parent and child tickets for all four home fixtures were distributed to local schools and organisations.

The initiative has had a positive effect all round, with crowd numbers swelled by a fantastic turnout of children and families, who have so far cheered the Diamonds on to two wins out of three. Here’s hoping we can make it three out of four on Saturday – and that some of our new young fans will continue to support the Diamonds.

To that end, we’re delighted to offer a discounted child season ticket for the remainder of the campaign. Flyers with full details will be handed out at the turnstiles tomorrow, and we’ll continue visiting local schools and organisations to spread the word about the positive impact that football can have in the local area. The future is bright!

THE TREATMENT ROOM

We’re no strangers to rough patches in terms of injuries, but to lose two out of three goalkeepers at the same time is unlucky by anyone’s standards. Unfortunately Jamie Sneddon has a slight tear in his shoulder and will be missing for a number of weeks, as will Ruairidh Adams, who has a hip flexor strain.

Elsewhere, Declan Gallagher has resumed training after missing the Ross County match with a similar problem. Cole McKinnon was also back on the pitch this week following a back injury, which will continue to be carefully managed. Dylan MacDonald is being assessed after coming off against Ross County with a groin strain, and Zac Butterworth (hamstring) continues to work towards a return to training.

Strikers Liam McLeish and Divine Iserhienrhien have both been ruled out for a number of weeks. Scans revealed that Liam had sustained a muscle tear in his foot alongside the bruising which has kept him out of recent matches, while a bad head knock has seen Divine precluded from contact training in the immediate future.

As always, we wish all of our injured players a swift recovery under the watchful eye of the club’s medical team.
