We are delighted to announce the signing of former St Johnstone defender Reghan Tumilty.

The 29-year-old, who can play on the right side of defence and midfield, has featured for the likes of Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton, as well as a two-year spell at Hamilton Academical under current Diamonds head coach John Rankin.

Having featured as a trialist in the recent KDM Evolution Trophy tie against Stirling Albion, we are pleased to now be able to complete a deal for Reghan’s signature.

Checking in at the Albert Bartlett Stadium today, Reghan told airdriefc.com: “I’m delighted. I came in for a couple of weeks training, and Airdrie were obviously good enough to let me play in one of the cup games.

“It was good to get out there and see where my fitness was at. I felt good, and it feels good to be here now.

“I hope I can come and help the players that are already here – that bit of experience that the manager was speaking to me about will hopefully help the team, help us win more games and push us up the league.”

And John Rankin added: “Reghan is someone who adds good experience and a robustness to the squad.

“He has very good attacking qualities from a full back area and can also play in a variety of areas.

“Right now he obviously lacks match sharpness but with some training and his experience he should be up and running soon.”
