FAREWELL TO BRIAN
This week we said goodbye to Brian Smith, who is stepping down from his roles as club secretary and associate director due to personal commitments. Brian brought considerable expertise to both roles, and he will be greatly missed around the club – though we look forward to seeing him back in the stands giving the Diamonds his full backing as usual. All the best, Brian!


SOCIAL MEDIA
Recently we’ve received some communications asking why certain posts or comments are removed from our social media pages. While we encourage discussion on our pages and it is not our intention to deny supporters an opinion, these are official platforms of the club and the business – and as a business we have a duty of care to our employees. As such, comments which are abusive or disrespectful to individual club employees are automatically removed. Similarly, our pages have filters to remove posts containing inappropriate language, as the pages are used by people of all ages and from all walks of life to receive information on the club. We understand that football is a passionate sport and it can be frustrating when results on the pitch don’t go our way, but abuse of players and staff is not acceptable, online or otherwise.


GROW THE FANBASE
We have refreshed the format of our free school tickets initiative this year, which again is generously funded by stadium sponsors Albert Bartlett.

Rather than inviting an individual school or organisation to each home match, we have reached out to all schools in Airdrie, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth and the surrounding villages – and local Boys Brigades across the Airdrie and Coatbridge Battalion, and we are delighted to extend our invites to children and their parents across every home match in October.

The four-game initiative covers home matches against Montrose, Hearts B, Hamilton Academical, and Cove Rangers – and we hope to swell the crowds and generate an exciting atmosphere at each of those fixtures.

As well as inviting pupils and parents to our matches, the initiative will also see Airdrie players visiting participating schools (subject to availability), giving the youngsters the opportunity to play and train with our young professionals.
