We are please to announce the signing of midfielder Kian Taylor, who joins the Diamonds after leaving Greenock Morton.

21-year-old Englishman Kian began his career with hometown club Preston North End, spending time on loan with National League side Altrincham, before leaving to head north to Cappielow.

Having impressed in pre-season, particularly with some all-action performances in friendly matches, Kian played as a trialist in Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup opener against Dundee, forcing home via a deflection as Airdrie took the lead at Dens Park.

Putting pen to paper ahead of tonight’s visit to Hamilton to face Clyde, Kian told airdriefc.com: “I’m delighted to sign for Airdrie, I’ve enjoyed my time at the club so far being in with the lads in pre-season and playing in the first cup game.

“It looks like there’s a promising squad being built here, so hopefully it’s going to be a really good season for everyone involved.”

And head coach John Rankin added: “Kian hasn’t played a lot of football last season, but he’s obviously worked hard over the summer and really caught the eye in the games we’ve played so far.

“He’s a different type from what we already have in midfield, and he’s one we’re looking forward to working with – he plays the game in a way I think our supporters will like.”
