We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Evan Easton, who joins the Diamonds after leaving Sheffield United.

The former Celtic youngster joined the Blades last season, also spending time on loan at Irish side Crusaders.

Joining up ahead of today’s trip to Dundee, Evan told airdriefc.com: “I’m buzzing to get signed up after coming in to train and play on Tuesday.

“I’ve enjoyed my short time at the club so far, and can’t wait to get stuck in to the new season. Hopefully it can be a successful one for everybody at the club.”

And Diamonds head coach John Rankin added: “We’re delighted to get Evan on board, he did really well against Falkirk on Tuesday.

“He hasn’t spent much time with us during pre-season, but he’s a young player with huge potential who’s now looking to find his roots in first-team football.

“He’s got good attributes as a ball-playing centre-back who enjoys individual battles, so we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses.”
