We are pleased to announce the signing of former Queen’s Park striker Liam McLeish as John Rankin’s summer rebuild continues.

21-year-old forward Liam has trained with the club since the start of pre-season, and has shown impressive pace and presence in recent friendly matches.

Signing for the club ahead of tomorrow’s Premier Sports Cup opener at Dundee, Liam told airdriefc.com: “I’ve really enjoyed it since I came in, so I was pleased to get the deal sorted.

“I can’t wait to get going, and I’m sure we can do well in the cup games before we start the league matches and hopefully push for a return to the Championship.”

And head coach John Rankin added: “Liam has been in with us for a few weeks now, and he’s really impressed during that time so we were keen to get him tied up.

“He gets into really good positions in the forward areas and can also link up the play well. It’s important to have someone who adds a different dimension to the strikers that we already have, so we’re happy to get him signed.”
