We are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Jamie Sneddon after a successful pre-season with the club.

The 28-year-old joins subject to SFA clearance after two seasons with Falkirk, though fans may be more familiar with him from a seven-year stint at Partick Thistle, which came after spells at Hearts and Cowdenbeath.

While at Firhill, Jamie broke the club’s record for consecutive clean sheets – and even grabbed the headlines at the other end of the park, scoring a stoppage time equaliser for the Jags at Cove Rangers.

Having featured in recent bounce games and pre-season friendlies against Ayr United and Falkirk, Jamie today put pen to paper on a deal to join the club.

He told airdriefc.com: “I’m delighted to be here and can’t wait for the season ahead!

“There’s a really good atmosphere at the club, and a great group of players and staff. I’m ready to work hard and want to contribute as much as I can to help the team have a successful season.”

And coach Callum Erskine was pleased to add talent and experience to his goalkeeping department. He said “We’re really happy to get Jamie in and signed. I’ve known him for a few years now, and he’s looking as good as he ever has.

“I think the fans will see the quality that he’s shown in the pre-season games, and I’m confident he’ll carry that on into the season, adding good experience and quality to our young group.”
