We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Sam Fisher, who joins the Diamonds from Dunfermline Athletic subject to SFA clearance.

Central defender Sam joined the Pars in 2023 after coming through the youth ranks at Dundee. As well as breaking into the Dens Park first-team, the 24-year-old also spent time on loan at East Kilbride and Forfar Athletic.

Loan moves to Stenhousemuir and Kelty Hearts followed during Sam’s time at East End Park, and he joins Airdrie with valuable experience across the Scottish leagues.

Signing up at the Albert Bartlett Stadium today, Sam told airdriefc.com: “I’m buzzing to get it all done – it’s probably been a few weeks in the making, so I’m just buzzing to get it over the line and get started.

“After speaking to the manager, it’s a season I’m really looking forward to and I’m sure we’ll do well.”

And head coach John Rankin was pleased to make his second new signing of the summer, adding: “We’re delighted to get Sam on board, he’s hungry and aggressive, and that’s part of the reason I wanted him here.

“He’s a good professional and he’s focussed and ready to go. We’re delighted to be working with him, and looking forward to getting started in a couple of weeks time.”
