Taylor-Sinclair appointed head coach

We are delighted to announce the formal appointment of Aaron Taylor-Sinclair as Airdrieonians Head Coach.

As Aaron signs a long-term contract to make his position official following a successful period as caretaker manager, we can also announce that Academy Director Alan Gow will be taking up a new role as Director of Football.

An experienced defender north and south of the border, Aaron signed for Airdrie in September 2022, making 42 appearances for the club in the lead up to this season. His solitary Diamonds goal came in the memorable 6-2 promotion play-off win over Falkirk, and he also represented Antigua & Barbuda seven times as an Airdrie player.

Taking on a first-team coaching role in 2023, Aaron was appointed player-assistant manager a year later.

Stepping in as caretaker manager following Rhys McCabe’s departure in August 2025, Aaron led the Diamonds to a 1-1 draw with Queen’s Park before resuming assistant duties as Danny Lennon was appointed manager. Taking interim charge again following Lennon’s departure, Aaron has overseen six wins and two draws during his nine weeks in charge.

Aided by coaches David Hutton and Bryan Prunty and working in tandem with Director of Football Alan Gow, we are thrilled that Aaron will continue as Head Coach on a permanent basis as we head into 2026.

Aaron said: “I’m delighted to get everything sorted, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to lead the club going forward.

“It’s been a positive two months, and the response from players, staff and supporters has been fantastic.

“I look forward to continuing the hard work and hopefully seeing more success as we move into the new year.”
