Tate departs as Jake joins
The January transfer window begins with two changes to the Diamonds squad as Tate Xavier-Jones returns to Luton Town following the end of his loan deal, and Jake Hastie’s move from Ayr United becomes permanent.
Striker Xavier-Jones joined the club in August, gaining valuable experience in the first-team environment as he made 14 appearances for the Diamonds. In his solitary start against Alloa Athletic, the 19-year-old hit the net with an impressive finish from the edge of the box.
Tate returns to Luton with our thanks and best wishes, and we will watch his future career with interest.
Jake Hastie returned to the Albert Bartlett Stadium in October, joining on loan from Ayr United having made 33 Airdrie appearances in an earlier loan spell as a Motherwell youngster.
Having added a further ten appearances already this season, Jake officially becomes an Airdrieonians player now as his Ayr contract expires.
Following an instrumental cameo against Arbroath last week, we look forward to seeing Jake kick on in the second half of the season.
Our thanks go to Luton Town and Ayr United for their assistance with the moves.
