Young Terrors trio head to Airdrie
We are pleased to welcome Samuel Cleall-Harding, Scott Constable and Calvin Beattie to the club under our co-operation agreement with Dundee United.
The terms of the agreement mean that all three players can move freely between the clubs outwith the normal transfer windows, thus maximising playing time for the talented youngsters.
19-year-old Sam Cleall-Harding is a centre-back whose impressive academy displays earned him a place in the first-team squad. A dominant defender who has previously spent time on loan with Kelty Hearts, Sam has three Scotland U21 caps to his name, and is expected to have a great future with the Tangerines.
Scott Constable is a versatile 18-year-old who is equally comfortable at right full-back or in midfield. Another who has already spent time out on loan, with Stirling Albion in this case, Scott has featured twice for the Dundee United B team and twice for the first team, including a cameo in a UEFA Conference League qualifier against Rapid Vienna in August.
Calvin Beattie (17) has been at United since the age of seven, appearing regularly above his age group on his journey through the Tannadice academy. A box-to-box midfielder, Calvin has made three Challenge Cup appearances for Dundee United B.
With Sam (U21) and Scott (U19) named in the Scotland squads announced this week, the ability of the trio is plain to see. All three players are very highly regarded at Tannadice, and we are delighted that Dundee United have entrusted the next stage of their development to us.
Welcome to the Diamonds, lads!
