Diamonds enter co-op agreement
We are delighted to announce that a Cooperation Agreement has been reached with Premiership side Dundee United.
The Cooperation System, introduced to SPFL clubs this summer, provides additional flexibility with regard to loaning players aged 16-21 who are eligible to represent the Scotland national teams.
Under the new system, nominated players will be able to join Airdrieonians from Dundee United with the freedom to move between the clubs outwith standard transfer windows, in order to maximise playing time.
The Tannadice side, who sit third in the Premiership table, have a number of players who fit into this category, and manager Jim Goodwin – who captained St Mirren’s League Cup winning side under current Airdrie boss Danny Lennon – sees the Albert Bartlett Stadium as the ideal destination for his young talent.
Announcements on the players registered under the agreement will be made in due course.
Our thanks go to Dundee United for their assistance in making the arrangement possible.
