Auction to raise money for Variety Scotland

With only a week to go until the Ian McMillan Memorial Dinner at the Albert Bartlett Stadium, we are pleased to announce a list of fantastic auction items which will go under the hammer on the night – with three outstanding lots linked to the ‘wee Prime Minister’ himself.

The jewels in the crown of this not-to-be-missed auction are priceless mementos of Ian’s Airdrie, Scotland and Rangers careers.

In 1974, Airdrie won the Second Division title under Ian’s management, and his winning medal is one of the star lots at our auction.

We expect another of Ian’s personal items to be just as popular – the framed Scotland strip which he wore against the USA in 1952 – the match in which Ian scored both of his international goals.

Also up for grabs is a glass signed by Rangers’ 1960 Scottish Cup winning team, which of course included Ian.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own these incredible pieces of history, and we’re sure that these and the other auction items will raise an impressive sum of money for Variety Scotland.

See below for a complete list of our auction items – if you’re unable to attend the dinner but would like to bid for one of the items, you can do so via director Gordon Watson. Simply email gw@airdrieonians.co.uk stating the item you wish to bid on, and your maximum bid, and Gordon will act on your behalf at the auction.
