Thanks from Airdrie Action Partnership
Airdrie Action Partnership’s Christmas Appeal was a roaring success – thanks in no small part to the Diamonds fans and sponsors who dug deep to help out.
AAP Chairperson Iain Jamieson got in touch to ask the club to pass on the group’s heartfelt thanks, and to share some information on how your generous donations helped the local community.
The resources gathered by the appeal allowed AAP to support 310 local families, with gifts and clothing passed on to 692 children and teenagers. 139 local residents received a Christmas meal, and 222 gift cards were distributed. 57 referrals were made to NLC’s Tackling Poverty team to allow further assistance.
One parent who received support said: “I’m totally overwhelmed with all the gifts and vouchers for my children – I can’t believe how kind you have all been. Thank you for making Christmas great for my children.”
The success of the appeal represents a wonderful community effort for local people in need, and we join AAP in thanking everyone who volunteered and donated.
