Defender Graham joins the Diamonds
We are delighted to announce that English defender Sam Graham has agreed terms on a deal to join the club.
24-year-old Sam joins the Diamonds after leaving AFC Fylde in June, subject to SFA and international clearances.
The 6’3” centre-back started his career with hometown team Sheffield United, where he made a number of loan moves including spells with Oldham Athletic, Central Coast Mariners and Notts County.
A move to Rochdale followed in 2021, before the Englishman spent last season with Fylde.
Making his first move north of the border, Sam told airdriefc.com: “I’m pleased to get it done and over the line, and hopefully I can get playing as soon as possible.
“I like to play out, I can mix it up – going long or coming shorter. I’m an aggressive defender, and I like keeping the ball out the net and getting clean sheets!
“My aim is just to really enjoy playing football, and for the team to finish as high up the table as we can.”
And assistant-manager Aaron Taylor-Sinclair added: “It’s good to get Sam in, obviously we needed cover in that area and he was keen to come.
“He’s got all the attributes to do well in the Scottish game, so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do up here.”
Welcome to the Diamonds, Sam!
