Following today’s announcement by Arbroath FC, we can confirm that Calum Gallagher will leave the club at the end of the current season.

Due to a miscommunication among Arbroath staff, the pre-contract arrangement was announced without an agreement being made between the parties involved.

Calum is one of the most important players in the recent history of Airdrieonians, and this is not how we wished for our supporters, players and staff to find out that he has decided to move on to a new challenge.

Arbroath FC have apologised for this morning’s announcement, and given assurances that no such error will happen again.

With up to a possible nine important fixtures remaining for the club this season, Calum remains an important part of the playing squad until his departure, and he will leave the club with our thanks and very best wishes for the future when the season is over.

As the top goalscorer of the modern era, Calum’s achievements will be recognised at the forthcoming 1924 Celebration Dinner when he will be given a Special Recognition award and inducted into the Airdrieonians Hall of Fame.
