Club captaincy
After two successful years in the roles, Callum Fordyce and Calum Gallagher have passed on the club’s captaincy and vice-captaincy respectively.
31-year-old Fordyce led the side to two play-off finals during his tenure as skipper, notably winning promotion to the Championship at the end of last season.
A rock at the heart of the defence as well as a natural leader on the park, Fordyce has chosen to relinquish the captaincy in order to focus on his responsibilities as a player and assistant manager, feeling that the move is the correct one in the interests of the long-term project.
Influential midfielder Adam Frizzell will take on the role of club captain for the upcoming season, and we’re sure the 25-year-old will continue to thrive under the added responsibility.
Striker Calum Gallagher has also chosen to pass on the vice-captaincy after a stellar season, with defender Cammy Ballantyne taking over the role.
With both Fordyce and Gallagher continuing to exert their influence on and off the pitch, and a strong culture of leadership throughout the squad, we know that the team will continue to be well represented.
Thank you Callum and Calum, and good luck Adam and Cammy!
