We are delighted to announce that English striker Gabby McGill has agreed a deal to extend his hugely successful spell at the Excelsior Stadium.

As revealed to the press by manager Rhys McCabe, the 22-year-old Yorkshireman was keen to put pen to paper on his return from holiday, and with the formalities completed we are pleased to officially welcome Gabby back.

Originally joining in July 2021, Gabby’s first season in the Diamond was a stop-start affair due to injury, but the striker certainly impressed fans with his all-action style and some vital goals.

Returning last summer, McGill enjoyed an injury-free season and reaped the rewards as he bagged 18 goals, including the vital equaliser to take the play-off final to extra-time.

It goes without saying that we’re looking forward to seeing the popular striker wear the Diamond again as we move up to the Championship. Welcome back, Gabby!
