Airdrie will start this season as they ended the last - with a Lanarkshire derby, as we face Motherwell in this season’s NL Cup.

The Diamonds will once again make the short trip to Broadwood Stadium on Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2, joining hosts Cumbernauld Colts and Monklands neighbours Albion Rovers alongside Premiership side Motherwell.

This time Rhys McCabe’s newly-promoted side have a trophy to defend, after last year’s victories over Stirling Albion and the Colts saw us open the season with some silverware.

The opening day of this year’s tournament will see Cumbernauld Colts face Albion Rovers in the 1:00pm kick off before Airdrie face their old rivals at 4:00pm. As before, the losing sides will meet in the third-place playoff on Sunday, before Saturday’s winners play in the final.
