We are delighted to announce the signing of Partick Thistle midfielder Ben Stanway, who joins on loan until the end of the season subject to SFA approval.

18-year-old Ben, a box-to-box midfielder, has already made a handful of appearances for the Jags first-team, and joins the Diamonds hoping to build on that experience.

He told airdriefc.com: “I’m looking forward to getting started. I’ve come on a few times for Partick Thistle - obviously it was tough games, but it’s a learning curve and it’s experience, and that’s what I’m here for as well.

“It’s a great bunch of boys, they’ve been dead welcoming. The gaffer as well… it’s been easy to come into.”

And manager Rhys McCabe added: “We watched a few of Ben’s games earlier in the season, he’s a good young player who’s doing really well at Partick.

“We had the opportunity to get him in and get him involved with our squad, and I think he’ll contribute and learn from the quality players that we have in that area.”
