Festive Friends

Airdrie Community Trust and Airdrieonians FC turned Excelsior Stadium into a winter wonderland recently as we took part in the SPFL Trust’s Festive Friends programme among a host of community activities.

As usual, Festive Friends Christmas boxes were handed out to local residents courtesy of our very own Santa Claus, and we held a Christmas lunch for some of Airdrie’s senior citizens. The party atmosphere soon descended, with singing, dancing and festive fun for all, as well as carols from the Hilltop Primary School choir.

We also held a party for Craigneuk Residents Association, with youngsters receiving toy donations courtesy of Empire School of Football.

Community Trustee and Airdrie director Gordon Watson said: “We were delighted to be able to deliver the SPFL Trust Festive Friends programme for another year, and it was even better that we could get back to face-to-face meetings.

“It was great to see everyone in attendance enjoying their day out and having some fun - thank you to the SPFL Trust and to everyone who made this possible!”

You can see some more photos from the Christmas events on our social media pages.
