We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Lewis Jamieson, who joins on loan from St Mirren subject to SFA approval.

20-year-old Jamieson has made two appearances for the Buddies first-team, and has spent time on loan at Clyde and Inverness Caledonian Thistle over the last two years.

A pacey striker with a powerful shot, Lewis caught the eye of Diamonds fans with a stunning volley in the 1-1 draw with Clyde at the Excelsior in February.

Joining his new team-mates for training this evening, Lewis told airdriefc.com: “The gaffer was speaking to me over the course of the summer, really keen on getting me in.

“I’m happy to come here and get game time, and hopefully do well. I’m hoping to get a good few goals to help the team!”

Manager Rhys McCabe added: “We know of the quality Lewis has from playing against us last year.

“He adds yet more pace to our frontline, as well as plenty of skill and scoring ability, and we’re delighted to welcome him into the squad.”
