New deal for Frizz

Airdrie’s squad for next season was further boosted today as midfielder Adam Frizzell put pen to paper on a contract extension.

The 24-year-old former Kilmarnock man joined the Diamonds from Dumbarton last summer, and immediately impressed supporters with his skill and work-rate.

Grabbing four goals in 38 appearances, Adam was recognised by his team-mates with the club’s Players Player of the Year Award.

Adam told airdriefc.com: "When Rhys gave me the call to let me know he was taking the reins I was delighted with that, and it was a massive factor in my decision.

"Last season was my most enjoyable in my career to date and I look forward to hopefully keeping this special squad together as best we can and going one better next season."

Needless to say we’re delighted that Adam has chosen to return to the Excelsior in the face of interest from other clubs, and we can’t wait to see him back in the Diamond as Rhys McCabe’s squad continues to take shape.
