We are delighted to announce that 25-year-old defender Cammy Ballantyne has agreed terms on a deal to join Airdrie.

Following spells with Dundee United and Dumbarton, Cammy has spent the last three seasons as an integral part of the Montrose side which has consistently impressed in League 1.

The versatile defender also represented Scotland Under 17s in his Tannadice days, and has now agreed a deal to join the Diamonds as the first signing of Rhys McCabe’s reign as player-manager.

Cammy told airdriefc.com: “The opportunity to come and play at this club was a no-brainer. I can’t wait to get started.

“I’d also like to thank everyone at Montrose for the last few years, which I’ve enjoyed, but I felt it was time for a new challenge and I’m delighted to sign for Airdrie.”
