Easton storms to awards double

Dylan Easton took the plaudits this weekend as the Diamonds midfield maestro scooped the club’s Player of the Year Award on Saturday before claiming PFA Scotland’s League 1 Player of the Year trophy at Sunday’s awards dinner.

Dylan’s double will come as no shock to Airdrie fans who have watched the 28-year-old wow the crowds with some exceptional goals, assists and all-round skill over the course of the season.

The fans voted in their numbers in the club’s Player of the Year poll, which saw Dylan presented with the award following Saturday’s match against Peterhead. Having already been named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year, Dylan was pleased to add to his trophy haul at Sunday’s event.

“I’m delighted with both awards, it’s obviously great to receive the recognition both from the Diamonds support and from my fellow professionals.

“It’s nice to win the individual awards, but everything at Airdrie has been a huge team effort this season, and I couldn’t have performed the way I have without my team-mates.”

Huge congratulations from everyone at the club for a well deserved award!

Joining Dylan in accepting the club’s End of Season awards were Callum Smith (Young Player of the Year and Players Young Player of the Year), Rhys McCabe (Goal of the Season) and Adam Frizzell (Players Player of the Year). Look out for our photo gallery from Saturday’s presentation, which will be on our social media channels in the coming days.
