Loanee Scott extends stay

We are delighted to announce that midfielder Scott McGill will remain with the club until the end of the season.

Following an impressive six-month stint with the club, we have agreed the extension of Scott’s loan deal with parent club Hearts.

19-year-old Scott immediately endeared himself to the Diamonds faithful after joining on loan in July when, only hours after signing, he came off the bench to score a superb debut goal against rivals Motherwell.

Scott has gone on to make 21 appearances in all competitions for the club, often displaying his versatility by excelling in unfamiliar roles.

Manager Ian Murray said: “We’re really happy to agree a deal for Scott to stay on.

“He’s done very well and is getting better all the time. Hopefully he will continue to improve and add to his 20-plus appearances.

“He’s been a pleasure to work with.”

We would like to thank Heart of Midlothian for their co-operation in extending Scott's stay.

Meanwhile we can confirm that Rhys Caves has returned to Dundee United following the end of his loan spell.

Our thanks go to Rhys and to Dundee United for making the loan possible.

Rhys made two substitute appearances in his time at the club, and we wish him all the very best with a promising career in the game.
