Malteser keepy-uppy competition

Following Airdrie legend Willie McGuire’s guest appearance on Saturday’s DTVLive stream, we want to see some young Diamonds replicating his famous Malteser trick!

Former midfield star Willie went viral on YouTube back in 2012 when he performed 30 keepy-uppies with a Malteser after seeing Liverpool players struggle to reach that figure using a tennis ball.

He spoke to DTV commentator Brian Smith about the challenge when they chatted during Saturday’s stream, and now we want to see what our young fans can do!

If you’re an Airdrie fan aged 16 or under and you fancy your chances at replicating Willie’s feat, record yourself doing the challenge and send the video to diamondsatheart@airdriefc.com by Monday, August 9.

The entrant who manages the most keepy-uppies will have their video posted on our social media channels and will win a great prize - the chance to join our DTV team for an evening at training where you can meet the players, watch them train and interview your favourite for DiamondsTV.

The winner must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the session, which will take place when Covid restrictions allow.

So get your Maltesers out and start practising - you have one week to get your videos in!
