Defender Scott Walker has become the latest Diamond to commit his future to the club.

Having stepped up from the reserve squad last summer, 20-year-old defender Scott enjoyed an impressive run of matches as Airdrie’s good form took them to the Championship play-off final.

A calm and solid full-back, the former Partick Thistle youth was pleased to extend his deal with the Diamonds as he eyes further first-team action.

“I’m happy to get this done. We were unlucky last season with how we finished, but overall it was a great season for me and I got some game time near the end.

“I was flung in at the deep end a wee bit, being brought in for some big games when I hadn’t played much, but I was pleased I could help the team get to the final.

“Now I want to keep getting as many games as I can and hopefully help the team to go one better.”

Manager Ian Murray added: “We’re glad Scott has decided to continue his progression with us.

“He had a good season, and we’re looking forward to seeing him have another.”
