Midfielder Paton checks in

We are delighted to announce the addition of vastly experienced midfielder Paul Paton, who joins on loan from East Kilbride subject to the approval of paperwork.

33-year-old Paton is well known in the Scottish game, having turned out for Partick Thistle, Dundee United and St Johnstone among others, as well as gaining senior international recognition with Northern Ireland.

With a congested fixture schedule looming and injury ruling Josh Kerr out for the coming weeks, manager Ian Murray was keen to add another defensive midfielder to his squad, and was delighted to capture Paton’s signature.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to working with Paul, he brings quality and experience, and is another player with great hunger which is so important to us.

“Everyone is looking forward to working with him over this busy period.”

Paton is pleased at the prospect of being back in action after the Lowland League was brought to a halt.

“I’m delighted to be joining the club and working hard like I have done over my whole career.

“Hopefully my experience can help in the run-in to the end of the season - the boys have been great so far so let’s hope we can have a good end to the season and help to guide the club closer to where it deserves to be.”

We extend our thanks to East Kilbride for making the move possible, and have agreed that should their Lowland League campaign restart, Paul will return to K-Park.
