Diamonds bid farewell to Hutts

Following an agreement to release David Hutton from his contract, the popular goalkeeper has now joined Brechin City and leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club.

Joining the Diamonds from Arbroath in May 2018, Hutton didn’t have long to wait to stake his claim for the number one spot as a long-term injury to Scott Gallacher saw the well-travelled keeper become a regular fixture on the teamsheet.

David made a total of 64 appearances in his two and a half years at the club, with many point-winning saves along the way.

Continuing to show his commitment to the Diamond shirt when called upon this season, it’s understandable that David was keen to be guaranteed regular game-time, and we wish him all the best as he returns to Angus to join Brechin.

Speaking to DiamondsTV when David’s departure was confirmed last weekend, manager Ian Murray said: “First and foremost I’m very sorry to see David leave the football club.

“I’ve certainly enjoyed working with him, and I think the Airdrie fans will be sad to see him go.

“We wish him nothing but good things for the future.”
