Diamonds enjoy above-par day out

Airdrie’s players and staff had a ball this morning with a team day out courtesy of FootGolf Cumbernauld.

FootGolf combines two of the nations favourite sports as players make their way round the course kicking a football instead of using a golf ball and club, and is the ideal way to spend a fun day out while still observing social distancing measures.

The squad took to the course - situated at Palacerigg Golf Centre, Cumbernauld - at 11:00am, and spent a fun couple of hours driving, stroking and chipping around 18 holes of fairways and greens - although some participants spent more time in the rough and the conditions proved too slippery for Griffin Sabatini, who went home covered in mud!

The winning team consisted of Sean Crighton, Ally Roy, Joseph Moore, Reece Murdoch and Thomas Robert, with Ally Roy claiming the best score on the day, getting round the whole course in 60 strokes.

There were hole-in-ones for Joshua Burke, Josh Kerr and James Hughes, while the staff team brought up the rear despite the best efforts of manager Ian Murray.

Our thanks go to FootGolf Cumbernauld for a brilliant day out. The ideal venue for birthdays, corporate days or hen/stag parties, you can learn more by finding them on facebook, calling 07871 936148, or visiting their website using the link below.
