New deal for Ally

We are delighted to announce that striker Ally Roy has agreed to extend his stay at the club until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The Northern Ireland U21 international joined Airdrie from Partick Thistle last summer and netted five times in his debut season.

Signing a one-year extension to his deal, Ally told airdriefc.com: “I’m buzzing to be staying for next season, as the way last season finished makes us feel like we have unfinished business - both as a team and on a personal note.

“There are some great people in and around the club, so I’m looking forward to getting back together with all the boys and continuing to give our best for each other and for Airdrie.”

Director of Football Stuart Millar was pleased to see another member of last season’s squad commit for the upcoming campaign.

“Ally had a brilliant start to life at the club, scoring three times in last season’s Betfred Cup group and deservedly picking up the Player of the Month award.

“He was unfortunate in the sense that his chances became limited as the season went on due to the form of Callum Smith and the goalscoring exploits of Dale Carrick and Calum Gallagher.

“That doesn’t change the fact that Ally is a young guy with a lot of potential, and we’re confident he will go on to fulfil that potential in his second season.”
