Kerr extends Diamonds stay

We are pleased to announce that Josh Kerr has become the latest Diamond to commit his future to the club.

The 22-year-old has joined Paul McKay and Ally Roy in putting pen to paper on a deal for season 2020/21.

The former Brighton and Celtic man told airdriefc.com: “I’m delighted to be staying as I feel that I was getting into my stride as last season finished up, and fans were starting to see the best of me.

“The whole squad feel like we have unfinished business with the way the league ended when we were still in with a chance. We believe we can take the team to the next level through promotion.”

Director of Football Stuart Millar was pleased to make it a hat-trick of signings this week.

“We’re aware that we must improve in certain areas, but the squad did very well last season and it’s great to get more of them signed up.

“Josh is a talented player who has been at massive clubs, and he showed that with some magnificent performances toward the end of the season.

“He’s another young player with huge ability and potential, as well as versatility to play in defence and midfield, which is something the manager was keen to explore further.”
