Airdrie Community Trust, in partnership with local charity Lanarkshire Community Food and Health Partnership, are proud to help tackle period poverty by providing access to free sanitary products at the Penny Cars Stadium.

It is estimated one in ten women and girls in the UK are unable to properly take care of menstrual needs due to lack of affordability. As of our next home game against Falkirk, sanitary products will be available in female toilets within the Penny Cars Stadium and at the main reception.

Orlaith, Erin & Mikaela from campaign group On The Ball who have worked with the likes of Celtic, Manchester City & LA Galaxy said: “We’re delighted that Airdrie FC have made period products free and accessible for fans at the stadium.

“It’s a fantastic, forward-thinking move and we hope that it inspires others beyond football to do the same! Well done to our 97th club.”

Airdrieonians Community Trust's Yvonne Jamieson added: “We’re proud to have partnered with local charity Lanarkshire Community Food and Health Partnership to become a community based access point for their free products.

“It’s a problem that affects a lot of girls and young women, and having products available in our toilets means we can hopefully help those in need.”
