Cammy moves on

August 12, 2019

Striker Cammy Russell has joined Lowland League outfit Kelty Hearts.

The 21-year-old had attracted the interest of a number of clubs last season, and caught the eye of Kelty manager Barry Ferguson while on loan at East Kilbride.

We accepted a transfer bid from the Fife side over the weekend, with Cammy intimating that the lure of regular first-team football was a strong incentive.

Cammy joined Airdrie from Queen’s Park in November 2015, featuring in the successful U20s side before bursting onto the first-team scene with two goals against Stranraer on his senior debut. Remaining an important member of the squad since then, his attitude and commitment have been second to none.

Cammy moves on with our thanks for his service and our very best wishes for the future.
