Backroom changes
July 12, 2019
Fans at our recent friendly matches may have noticed a few new faces in the dug-out after some pre-season changes to the club’s backroom staff.
Highly-respected head physio John McMenemy takes over the medical department following the departure of Michael McLaughlan and physios Kirsty Hughes, Amanda Jones and Stacey Whisker.
John will be assisted by junior physio Adam Skinner and sports scientist Mark McMenemy, with Scott Mackay continuing in the role of reserve team physio.
Kitman Jim Frame also moved on over the close season, and the kit department will now be overseen by a number of the club’s staff, with Neil Johnston eventually taking up the position of kit manager when his recovery from illness is complete.
Finally we have added two experienced scouts, Niall Maclean and Bryan McDonald.
Director of Football Stuart Millar told airdriefc.com: “I’m thrilled that in a relatively short period of time we have been able to facilitate this structure.
“The new staff members bring considerable skills to their respective departments, and will be of huge benefit to the club moving forward.”
Manager Ian Murray added: “The guys have settled in well, and having worked with some of them in the past I’m looking forward to doing so again.”
We would like to thank Michael, Kirsty, Amanda, Stacey and Jim for all of their hard work during their time with Airdrieonians, and we wish them all well for the future.
