Fordyce latest to pen extension
January 9, 2020
The good news continued at the Penny Cars Stadium this evening as Callum Fordyce signed a deal to commit to the Diamonds until the end of season 2020/21.
27-year-old defender Callum has been a steady influence at the back this season, playing every minute of every match since joining from Queen of the South in the summer. Alongside fellow centre-back Sean Crighton, “Dycey” has marshalled a defence which is the second meanest in League One to date.
Overseeing Callum’s paperwork this evening, Director of Football Stuart Millar said: “We’re thrilled that Callum has committed long term.
“He’s shown great leadership since he came in to the club as well as possessing a great deal of ability. He loves it here, and we all love having him here!”
With a wealth of experience at higher levels, we are delighted that Callum has chosen to extend his time with Airdrie for a further year as he becomes the latest in a spate of players to show outstanding commitment to the club and increase the squad’s stability moving forward.
