David departs Diamonds coaching role
October 31, 2018
David Proctor has today left the club by mutual consent, stepping down from his role as first team coach.
David came back to the club as a coach this summer, having previously had two spells in the Diamond as a player. He told airdriefc.com: "Following the recent changes at management level, I feel the time is right to stand aside as first team coach.
"I would like to place on record my thanks to Stephen Findlay for allowing me this opportunity - I have gained a lot from my experiences working alongside Stevie and Marc, and I have no doubt that Ian Murray and Fitzy will be successful this season.
"The decision to hang up my boots in the summer was an extremely tough one, and having played a few reserve games recently I still feel fit enough to play competitively, therefore I would like to explore my options once again in a playing capacity."
Everyone at Airdrieonians FC would like to wish David all the very best as he returns to his playing career, and thank him for his efforts during his time at the club.
