Fordyce makes Airdrie switch
May 30, 2019
Central defender Callum Fordyce has become the latest player to agree terms with the Diamonds as the rebuilding job for next season continues.
The 26-year-old will join from Queen of the South, having formerly played with Dunfermline Athletic, Livingston and Hibernian.
Callum signed a pre-contract agreement at the Penny Cars Stadium this evening, the ground where he made his senior debut for Livingston in 2011.
He told airdriefc.com: “When I heard Airdrie were interested I saw it as a great opportunity for me with the way the club are moving forward.
“It’s a club with a lot of history, and I’m looking forward to being part of the challenge for the league title next season.
“As a player I’d like to think I’m quite comfy on the ball, and I’ll bring leadership qualities as well - I’m very vocal on the park and I’m a good organiser.
“I’ve got a fair bit of experience, and hopefully I can help the young boys coming into the club as we all work towards making Airdrie successful.”
Manager Ian Murray was delighted to welcome Callum to the squad.
“Callum is another player who brings Championship experience.
“He know the Scottish leagues very well after a good amount of games at Queen of the South and other clubs, and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
