We are pleased to announce that gifted left-back Jonathan Kavanagh has agreed terms on a contract with the club.

 

The 18-year-old defender, who has dual British and Italian nationality, joins the club from Lowland League champions East Kilbride.

 

Signing on at the Penny Cars Stadium today, Jonathan told airdriefc.com: “I’ve played against Airdrie many times, and they’re a brilliant club with a great manager. Between that and the offer of full-time football, I honestly couldn’t think of anything better for me right now!

 

“It’ll be a big step up, but I’m looking forward to coming in and working hard. My first job is to make a good impression and go on to do the best I can for the club.”

 

Director of Football Stuart Millar added: “Jonathan is definitely one for the future. He caught the eye of the management team playing for East Kilbride against our reserves, and we’ve kept tabs on him since then.

 

“We quickly identified him as an excellent prospect, and we’re delighted to welcome him to the club.”
