We are pleased to announce the signing of former Motherwell defender Kyle MacDonald.

 

The 19-year-old has primarily featured in the right wing-back position in his nine years at Fir Park, but his versatility has seen him operate across the back four and in midfield.

 

Moving through the youth ranks at Motherwell, Kyle also captained the U20 and reserve sides, and is now looking forward to a new challenge as he makes the switch across North Lanarkshire.

 

He told airdriefc.com: “I’m delighted to sign for Airdrie - full-time football and the opportunity to train and improve every day will be a big benefit to me.

 

“I’m an energetic player who likes to work hard and get up and down the pitch, and I’m looking forward to giving my all for Airdrie.

 

“My initial aim is obviously to get myself into the starting XI, and hopefully I can do enough to stay there and have a successful season.”

 

Diamonds boss Ian Murray was pleased to add another promising player to the squad.
