Academy sponsors backing the future

November 26, 2018

The club, and particularly the Academy, were delighted to unveil three major new sponsors last week at Penny Cars Stadium, and happy to have representatives along from each to feature in a photo with the boys.

Local Food Giants Albert Bartlett have continued their long-standing partnership with the club, and will see their logo feature on the front of both home and away jersey at all 3 age levels.

Michael Jarvis, Head of Marketing at Albert Bartlett, said: "we are committed to educating the next generation about healthy living, with our initiatives ranging from children’s books to cooking and marketing-related competitions.

"We’re also proud to support a mix of local and national activities and individuals, ranging from community football teams to up-and-coming sports enthusiasts.

"Sponsoring the Airdrie Academy ticks all of our boxes, and we are proud to be associated with our local football club at this level."

The second sponsor sees us extend our partnership with Suicide Prevention, whose logo already features on the back of the home jersey.

We will be the first team in North Lanarkshire who have extended the partnership down to include our Academy, and Lynne McDonald has already delivered two sets of Training Sessions to the Academy - a one hour session to all players and families, and a comprehensive three hour ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) session to all coaches.

Lynne, Lead Officer with Suicide Prevention North Lanarkshire said: "It was great to see how well the Airdrieonians players, coaches and staff responded to the session. Everyone who attended was really focussed and participated fully throughout.

"Helping someone at risk or worried about suicide is not just the responsibility of professionals, everyone can help. It's through sessions like this that we will help people in our communities to become more aware of some of the issues around suicide and how they can offer assistance."

The last of the sponsors are Caldercruix based Big Bite Catering, who provide catering all over Scotland to a wide range of corporate and private clients.

Director Alan Boslem, former Sous Chef of the world renowned Gleneagles Hotel, is involved in all aspects of the business on a daily basis and very much part of the cookery process, but more importantly is a diehard Diamond.

Alan said: "We are delighted to be involved with the youth set up and the Supporters' Trust.

"Let’s hope the club at all levels have a successful season both on and off the park."

Academy manager Scott Black added: "Everyone at the Academy is incredibly grateful for the input from all three sponsors. Without their fantastic support the Academy would not be able to operate at the standard we currently are at.

"New playing and training kit is always the first thing the boys look for at the start of the season, and many of the coaches are the same... not that they would admit it!"
