Midfield ace Roberts agrees terms

We are delighted to announce that attacking midfielder Kurtis Roberts has agreed terms with the club.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement, and will join from Queen’s Park when the transfer window re-opens.
Having spent time in the youth systems at Hamilton Academical, St Mirren and Clyde, Kurtis embarked on a football scholarship in Kentucky at the age of 18 before returning to Scotland to play junior football before signing on at Hampden.
Checking in at the Penny Cars Stadium this afternoon, Kurtis told airdriefc.com: “Coming to Airdrie is a step up for me, so I’m pleased to be progressing.
“I had a good year at Queen’s Park, and I think a few of my goals helped me to get the Player of the Year award!
“I’ve been told I bring plenty of energy on the pitch - I like to get on the ball in the final third of the pitch, and I hope I can bring some goals to the side.
“Some of my family are Airdrie fans, so I know a bit about the club - I’m looking forward to playing here and hopefully helping the team to promotion!”
Manager Ian Murray was pleased to make his first new signing of the close season.
“We’ve watched Kurtis several times, and we’re delighted to get him in amid stiff competition for his signature.
“He’ll bring drive, energy and aggression from the middle of the park. He has a real determination to do well, and has shown great technique with his passing and outstanding striking of the ball.”
