Midfielder Glass joins on loan
January 18, 2019
We are pleased to announce the signing of Dundee United midfielder Declan Glass, who joins the club on loan until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old has made two first team appearances for the Tangerines since signing from Hutchison Vale.
Joining his new team-mates for training last night, Declan told airdriefc.com: “I’m absolutely delighted to be here. I haven’t been playing as much as I’d like for Dundee United, so it’s good to get the chance to get out and play games.
“I’m a player who likes to attack - I like to create chances and score goals, and hopefully I can do that with Airdrie.
“The club is aiming for the play-offs, and I hope I can help to achieve that. Personally I’m looking to get as many minutes as I can, but the main aim is to help the club challenge for the play-offs.”
Manager Ian Murray was delighted to welcome Glass to the club.
“We’re really happy to get Declan in, he’s a young player with fantastic ability on the ball.
“He’s a player who will hopefully excite the fans, he’s really good at picking the ball up and finding holes to play one-twos and that sort of thing.
“He’s not an out-and-out winger, but he likes to come into tight areas and we need somebody that can do that - Kyle Wilkie has done really well, but he needs help and Declan will give us that.”
Declan goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park. Meanwhile, reserve striker Patrick Pyott has returned to Fauldhouse on loan until the end of the season.
