Martin Ferguson appointed Airdrieonians chairman
December 13, 2018
We are pleased to announce that Martin Ferguson has been appointed as the new chairman of Airdrieonians FC.
Martin, who has served as vice-chairman for the last year, was the board's unanimous choice to fill the chairman's role after Bobby Watson's decision to step down, and we are delighted that he has accepted the position.
Martin brings a wealth of football experience to the board, having played and managed in Scotland and Ireland, although he is best known for his 16 years as head scout at Manchester United alongside his brother, legendary Old Trafford manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Having already been at the club for 12 months, we are sure that the transition to chairman will be a smooth one, and we are delighted to be moving forward with Martin in the role.
