Bobby Watson has decided to step down from his role as Chairman of Airdrieonians Football Club.

 

Bobby took up the position when the current board took control of the club a year ago, and has proved a popular figure in the boardroom.

 

Speaking to airdriefc.com, the former Diamonds manager and Hall of Fame inductee said: "I would like to thank everyone for their support during my time as Chairman. I didn’t realise the work involved in the role would be so consuming of time, and at my age i need to allocate more of my time to family.

 

"I will continue to be a regular on matchdays and in the boardroom, and will be available to help the club going forward when required."

We thank Bobby for his tremendous work during his spell as Chairman, and look forward to seeing him continue in a less official capacity.
