Record-breaker Jordan returns

August 30, 2017

We are delighted to confirm that we have reached agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to bring Jordan Allan back to the club on loan.

Jordan made history in April 2013 when he became the youngest ever player to represent a senior football team in Scotland, making a substitute appearance against Livingston at just 14 years old. Subsequent rule changes have meant that this record will never be broken.

Hotshot Jordan had earned his first-team call up after a series of stunning goalscoring displays in the youth teams, and it wasn't just the Airdrie hierarchy who had noticed his progress.

A number of scouts from England began to take an interest in the youngster, and he made the move to Wolverhampton in May 2014.

Continuing to earn rave reviews in the Championship club's youth academy, Jordan has now returned to Airdrie on loan.

Director of Football Gordon Dalziel explained: "We had a chance to bring in Jordan last week for a few days, and I was extremely impressed.

"I could see why there was a lot of hype about the lad.

"After Andy Ryan left, we needed to look at the options up front, and whilst Ryan Tierney has hit the ground running, there is no doubt he will need some help.

"I left the rest up to the Chairman and he has delivered so it is a great boost to the squad."
