Striker Carrick checks in

January 12, 2018

Having received SFA clearance, we are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Dale Carrick.

The former Livingston frontman has penned an 18-month contract at New Broomfield after negotiating his release from the West Lothian club.

24-year-old Carrick began his career with Hearts, making 45 appearances over a three year spell. A year at Kilmarnock followed before Dale joined Livingston, where he played a part in their promotion-winning campaign last year before a loan spell at Cowdenbeath. He has also represented Scotland at U16 and U21 level.

Dale joined the Diamonds from Livingston last night, putting pen to paper before his first training session alongside fellow new boy Darryl Duffy, and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's trip to Stranraer.

Diamonds boss Stevie Findlay told airdriefc.com: "We're happy to get Dale here, and even happier that he's committed to the club for 18 months.

"He's a player i've admired for some time. He has great instincts in the box, he's very quick, he works hard for the team and at only 24, I feel our fans will get to see the best of him.

"Dale's a fantastic acquisition alongside Darryl, and they'll both help the young strikers at the club with their development too."

A delighted Dale added: "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play for a club that's striving to push forward on and off the pitch.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity, and ready for the challenge ahead."
