David Proctor joins management teams

May 2, 2018

We are delighted to announce the signing of David Proctor as first team coach.

Proctor (33) joins the management team after leaving East Kilbride, where he worked as a player/coach. As well as two spells as an Airdrie player, the big defender also turned out for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Dundee United and Canadian side FC Edmonton.

David told airdriefc.com:  "I have fond memories of my time here as a player, although my second spell didn't end how I wanted as I picked up a serious injury. That's when I started looking at the possibility of a coaching role.

"I did manage to get back playing with East Kilbride, but it was great to get into coaching there as well.

"To be honest it's a wrench to leave my home town team, and I probably wouldn't have gone anywhere else - but I have massive respect for Stevie and Marc having worked with them in my last spell at the club. The opportunity to link up with them again was too good to turn down.

"With the new owners taking over, it's a fresh start for everyone at Airdrie, and it's an exciting time to be involved with the club again."

Manager Stevie Findlay added: "We're delighted to welcome David to the management team, he's a fantastic addition at this level.

"As a player David gained a high level of experience at home and abroad, and having worked as a coach at East Kilbride over the last year, he's learned from one of the game's most respected figures in Billy Stark.

"I have no doubt that David will be a fantastic addition to this club."
